Woodford County Assistant State's Attorney position now open.  Trial experience preferred.  Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of litigation experience.  Expectations are to work with the State's Attorney of Woodford County to prosecute criminal violations within Woodford County, both misdemeanor and felony.  An ideal candidate will be willing to learn to be able to handle juvenile cases (both delinquency and abuse/neglect/dependency) and review civil work for county elected and appointed officials, as well as the prosecution of crime.  An assistant state's attorney will be expected to handle jury and bench trials, prepare witnesses, speak with victims of crime, and argue pretrial motions regarding suppression of evidence, etc.  The position requires a review of search warrants to be presented to circuit and associate judges, and handling eventually handling all areas of the office with the State's Attorney.  The position is open now and the pay range is $45,000.00 to $70,000.00, dependent upon experience.

Judicial Law Clerk

Fourth District Appellate Justice, Robert J. Steigmann, is accepting applications for the position of judicial law clerk. This position is located in Urbana, Illinois and reports directly to the Justice. This position is available February 15, 2018. Compensation for this position is set at $85,856 per year plus a generous judicial branch benefits package, including pension, medical, dental, vision and life insurance.


The judicial law clerk will perform legal research, analysis, and writing and will review and assist in the drafting of judicial opinions, orders, and other legal documents. Qualified applicants must be graduates of an accredited law school, possess excellent academic credentials, and be members in good standing of the bar. The successful candidate will possess exceptional legal research and writing skills, excellent organizational and analytical abilities, and strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Preferred qualifications include an affinity for cats1, a pleasant demeanor, and a strong sense of humor.
