Robert H. Jennetten Diversity Scholarship

Thank you for your interest in the Peoria County Bar Association Diversity Scholarship program. A goal of the Peoria County Bar Association (the “PCBA”) is to diversify its membership by providing financial assistance to law students who show interest in practicing law in the Peoria area and part of a minority group that is historically underrepresented in the legal profession. The PCBA, through the Peoria County Bar Association Foundation, will award financial assistance annually to an one or more applicants. The Diversity Committee of the PCBA will select the recipient or recipients. The decision of the committee is final. Demonstrated need for financial assistance will be considered. Submissions are due by Friday, July 12, 2024.

Eligibility: The applicant must be one of the following for the 2024-25 academic year:
1) an entering first-year law student;
2) a second-year law student; or
3) a third-year law student.

The applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.
The applicant must have a four-year college degree or be expected to obtain a college degree by the end of the spring 2024 semester. The applicant must have been accepted to or have an application to law school pending.
Before the scholarship funds are distributed to the school of the applicant, the recipient will be required to demonstrate admission to an accredited law school, or, if already a law student, successful completion of the first year of law school.
In addition to the submission of the application and personal statement, the PCBA Diversity Committee may request transcripts from undergraduate and post graduate schools attended through the date of the application and may also request a telephone interview.

If you have any questions about the application or the scholarship, please contact the Chair of the PCBA Diversity Committee, Yolanda Riley, at info@yolandarileylaw.com, or Executive Director, Stephanie Bitner, at pcbaasst@mtco.com.
